Wednesday saw the thermlmter climb to 24.2C the warmest day in three weeks and 1.5C above the average. In the limped sunshine the UV level of 8.9 was rated as Very High and the highest this year.
It has been a very mild night due to the thick cloud cover that limited the loss of warmth into the atmosphere so a minimum of 15.2C was 3.3C above the average and the warmest night this year.
Thursday dawned grey with thick cloud cover and at 08.10 a very brief drizzle shower passed over. The wind has veered a few more degrees and now coming from the north.
