Ridge of high pressure intensifies and brings more sunshine

With the barometric pressure at its highest for over two months, it is not surprising that the temperature yesterday recovered a little and we enjoyed much more sunshine, 6.62 hours of strong sunshine. The maximum temperature reached was 20.1C, 2C below the mean due to the cooler westerly airflow, the wind having backed from the northwest. Overnight cloud moved in so the lowest temperature was just before 3am at 9.7C but recovered to 13.9C at 08.00.
