The barometric pressure dropped considerably yesterday as the high pressure system that had dictated our weather for well over a week weakened and a depression took hold. The cloud cover arrived during the evening and a minimum of 5.9C was noted just after 22.00, which was followed by continous rainfall just after 03.00. The total rainfall by 08.00 was 6.8mm and the thermometer had risen to 9.9C.
